Hi guys, I'm back!!
I had the MOST amazing time during the orientation. I honestly didn't think it'd be that easy to find friends who are like me, but I'm very blessed to have found really nice and thoughtful friends ☺︎
The orientation only lasted for 2 days, which made me upset about it in the beginning. However, I am so so thankful that the orientation only lasted for 2 days bc I would be damn sian if it lasted any longer hahaha ☺︎
So, I entered my course in the School of Business not knowing a single soul in there. It was honestly very terrifying bc I was all alone omg. However, I soon found friends who were just like me - bitches. We cliqued instantly, at the snap of our fingers (how ironic that I actually can't snap my fingers lmao, but you get it). Tbh, I thought I'd take a longer time to find friends because let's be honest, nobody in the right mind would approach a girl who looks like a bitch and wants to be friends with her hahaha. Anyway, nobody took photos on the first day so sadly, I can't show you anything hahaha.
On the second day, we had Regatta. We had some other administration matters to settle before Regatta. However, I think Regatta was the main event. Anyway, Regatta is a dragon boat race between the several schools in TP. While the different schools were racing, we had to cheer for our own school in the sun, on the grass. What an experience, am I right??? Ok, to be fair, the school did set up shelters(?) for us, but it was of no use. I ended up at least 2 shades darker omg.
Regatta was the last compulsory event for the Freshmen Orientation Week (or 2 days for Business students) and it ended at 5+ I think? Anyway, about 10 of us from our class went for dinner before heading to TP's Jam and Hop (non-compulsory), which was apparently TP's version of Zouk hahaha ☺︎
This was really really fun!!
I really enjoyed myself exercising in a sauna for 2 hours hahahah.
(exercising bc we kept jumping, sauna bc it was in the open and it felt like a sauna ☺︎)
I'm sorry but I feel like our orientation was quite useless. We weren't given a tour around the School of Business, so we don't actually know how to navigate around the school. I don't even know where to go for lunch in school.
On the first day, everything we did was a mass something. The SLs (Synergy Leaders) taught us mass cheers up till it was time for lunch. So, we didn't know anyone. It was only during lunch did we introduce ourselves to the class. And we didn't play any ice-breaker games (which I'm thankful for bc no, just no) or did any bonding activities. After lunch, we learned our mass dance. And, right after our mass dance, we practised our mass cheers again. Realise how I'm emphasizing that everything we did was as a whole course of 500 Students.
Tbh, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing because, on one hand, I ABSOLUTELY hate running around and all. However, on the other hand, things might not have worked out to smoothly - I might not have been able to make friends that quickly.
However, I want to take this time to thank my SLs. My SLs were the best - they truly and sincerely cared for us. I've never had such caring seniors in the past, no joke. So thankful for them hehe ☺︎
I guess I'm grateful for how things turned out in the end. I became really really close to a number of my new friends. For those of you who don't know, Business students have to change classmates every year, so the thought that I won't be classmates with my new friends really saddens me.
