So this post has been sitting in my drafts for weeks now bc I wasn't sure if I should post this... I've contemplated on posting this for weeks on end, and I guess this is it hahaha.

It doesn't matter what you do,

it doesn't matter how hard you try,

it doesn't matter if you did your very best.

Because to them,

your best just isn't enough.

You may do better than others,

you may have taken an extra step,

you may be greater than others.

But to them,

your best just isn't enough.

You think you're all that great,

You think you're better than me,

You think that you're the best.

To you,

my best just isn't enough.

It's funny how I'm taken for granted.

It's funny how you're not.

It's funny how no matter what I do,

my best just isn't enough.

Stop lying, I'm tired of your lies.

Stop comparing, I know I'm not good enough.

Stop pretending, I know you don't care.

Stop.

Hi, all!!

Don't worry, I'm not feeling down or anything. These thoughts just popped into my head.

However...

Isn't it funny how no matter what you do, your best just isn't enough to some people? These people are so biased that they're blinded by whatever this other kid is doing, and they don't see how great you are. These people take whatever nice thing you do for them for granted. And they thank the other people and are grateful for them when they do ONE nice thing.

Why? Is it because you've always been nice? Is it because the other people haven't been nice, so when they are nice, people become grateful for whatever nice thing they've done? Isn't life confusing sometimes? So, does it mean that you shouldn't be yourself, and that you shouldn't be nice? NO. You should always be your true self, and always be kind to others, because what goes around comes back around. All of this kindness will eventually be returned.
Look, if these people can't see your individuality, your kindness, the true you, and be grateful to have you in their life, others will. Stop wasting your time trying to impress the people who aren't grateful for you.

Because you know what?

Your best is enough.
