hellooo!!
So, I know this is a really weird time to have such a blog post.
But then again, being a student in Singapore means that there are tests almost every week and having exams like 2-4 times a year.
This post is to help you guys get through these awful periods; which could also be all year round
//cries//
So these are the top ten study tips!
***
1. PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS
Well, it's easier said than done.
I cannot emphasise how very important paying attention in class is.
Nearing tests and examinations, teachers often give hints like
"THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AH. TAKE NOTE OF THIS AH."
during lessons.
So if you don't pay attention in class, you might miss out on the hints and end up not scoring as well on tests and exams.
2. ASK FOR HELP
Don't be shy!
Always ask for help when you don't understand anything.
(e.g. teachers, friends)
I am certain that teachers are more than willing to help any student who wants to clarify anything with them.
3. ALWAYS COMPLETE YOUR HOMEWORK
Okay, I'm not gonna lie.. I don't complete my homework like 50% of the time.
But I promise you, completing your homework will ensure that you understand what the teacher is / has been teaching.
And if you don't understand, maybe a question from the homework, you can always ask your teacher about it the next day to clarify with whatever you don't understand.
Completing your homework kind of acts like a daily revision thing, ensuring that you remember whatever that has been taught.
4. MAKE NOTES
Always make notes after the teacher has finished teaching that topic / chapter.
I don't know about your school, but in my school, after a chapter has been taught, the class is given a topical test.
So making notes right after learning the chapter will help you remember.
Also, these notes can be used to help you revise and study for your tests and exams.
Killing two birds with a stone :))
5. STUDY IN QUIET PLACES (STUDY DATES)
Actually, this really depends on you.
Because some people can study while watching Netflix, some people need to study with music, while others can't.
You really need to know what kind of person you are, which method works better for you.
Having study dates (with the right people) would help with your revision.
For example, when you don't understand anything or need a little help, you can ask your study buddies hehe <3
I would suggest studying at the library because there are fewer distractions as compared to studying at home.
(( Unless you see this really attractive person then... oh wells ))
When you study at home, you would have your laptop and you would start going on social media, or YouTube.
And you end up wasting the whole day on social media. Don't deny it.
6. NO PHONES!
So... this is going to be really difficult.. but you have to put your phone away.
Just a little side note here.
Don't put your phone on airplane mode (although it would be ideal) because your parents might want to contact you and when they can't reach you, they might start getting worried and sometimes they may end up being angry,
and THEY MAY GROUND YOU.
so just put your phone aside.
I would say that your phone is one of the BIGGEST DISTRACTIONS EVER.
You might receive game notifications or social media notifications, or your friends might be texting you.
// dramatic music //
This is the time for your perseverance and discipline.
7. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS WITH YOU
Okay, so I usually study at home because I have all my resources with me
(and bc I have no friends to study with //sobs// ok just kidding)
but there were a few times when I went out on study dates and I forgot to bring my unfinished notes or stationery and it was the most annoying thing ever.
booooooo :(
8. (MAYBE) TAKE NAPS
Research has shown that taking naps will help you remember better.
Also, napping helps you absorb more new information and retain them in your brain.
Research has also shown that studying through the night, such as cramming the night before an exam actually decreases the brain’s ability to absorb information by almost 40%!!
9. IT IS TIME FOR YOUR PLANNERS TO SHINE!!
So, if you don't already have a planner for 2015, you should probably get one.
START THE YEAR RIGHT.
Plan your study dates.
You can maybe plan a day every week with your friend(s) to go on study dates with them.
You can also take down all the homework given to you that day so you would not forget about anything.
List down whatever you want to finish on that day so you don't miss out on anything :)
10. CONQUER PROCRASTINATION
Stop procrastination!
After looking at the list of things to be completed, ALWAYS start of with the most challenging one.
Because that's why you're procrastinating.
I promise, once you're done with that, you would not procrastinate because everything else would seem easy to you :)

I hope these tips have helped you.
Also, you have to know yourself,
and what kind of learner you are,
so that you can use the best method to study.
There are mainly 4 types of learners:
-(V)isual Learner
-(A)ural Learner
-(R)ead/write Learner
-(K)inesthetic Learner
